The chiropractic philosophy fits in perfectly with the current trend toward a more natural, less medicinal approach to a healthy life. The chiropractors at Allied Chiropractic are highly attuned to the importance of looking at their patients in a way that takes the whole person into consideration when examining, diagnosing and treating illnesses or injuries.
The care provided at Allied is not just about addressing problems after they’ve occurred. It’s also about prevention and maintenance. We are determined to provide support, guidance, and education to our patients that help them to maintain a healthy, pain-free lifestyle and to become an active partner in their own ongoing wellness.
What Conditions Can Be Treated with Chiropractic Adjustments?
The beauty of chiropractic care is that although it ostensibly deals with musculoskeletal problems and the proper alignment of the spine, it can be used to treat a host of physical conditions. This is because the nerve compression that occurs when spinal joints are misaligned can cause pain to radiate to other areas of the body. Pinched nerves that connect to the spinal column can lead to or aggravate problems such as:
- Back, Neck and Shoulder pain
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Premenstrual Syndrome
Chiropractic adjustments work to realign joints and release pressure on the associated nerves. When this occurs, the circulation of blood and nutrients throughout the body is allowed to continue uninhibited. This free-flowing movement of fluids accelerates healing and also provides relief from pain in the affected areas.
Why Do I Need Multiple Treatments?
Just as doing just one exercise class won’t help you to get fit, simply going for one chiropractic treatment isn’t enough to provide ongoing wellness. It may help to relieve pain in the moment, but as a way to prevent further injury or illness, repeat visits are optimal. Typically, patients experience pain relief or healing from an injury by receiving chiropractic treatments once or twice a week for anywhere from two to six weeks. Subsequently, they can use chiropractic care preventatively and for health maintenance by having treatments once a month, every few months or as needed.

Our Lancaster chiropractic team brings back pain relief to those living in and around the Lancaster, CA area. If you have been living with back pain, limited mobility, interrupted sleep or numbness and tingling in your arms and legs, our spinal decompression therapy may bring you needed relief.
To determine if spinal decompression will benefit you, our chiropractors evaluate your spine to search for the source of your pain. Our Team Wellness chiropractors also listen to your symptoms to gain a greater understanding of your limitations and treatment goals. Some of the conditions that respond well to spinal decompression include:
- Sciatica - this condition typically consists of lower back pain, limited back movement and pain that travels into your legs. It is caused by an interruption of the sciatic nerve in your lower back.
- Herniated discs - the discs provide a buffer between the vertebrae to prevent the bones from rubbing against each other. The discs may begin to leak or move out of the space between the vertebrae which can interfere with the nerves and also allow the vertebrae to touch.
- Degenerating discs - if the discs begin to break down through wear and tear, the aging process or spinal compression, you may experience back pain.
- Pinched nerves - the nerves in the spine may become compromised from spinal misalignments or disc conditions.
Using Spinal Decompression at Our Lancaster Chiropractic Office
Our Team Wellness chiropractors offer spinal decompression services in our Lancaster office. Spinal decompression is a gentle technique that stretches and relaxes your spine. You lie comfortably on a table as your spine is manipulated into various positions. These movements help to improve the amount of space between each vertebra which eliminates pressure on discs and nerves. Spinal decompression also helps to straighten your spine into a healthy posture to help avoid future back pain and injuries. Our chiropractor will speak with you regarding the frequency of your sessions. At first, you may require more spinal decompression sessions until your body learns to remain in the new alignment. Then, your spinal decompression in Lancaster may be used for maintenance purposes to support a healthy posture. Our chiropractors use spinal decompression as part of your personal chiropractic care program. In addition, our chiropractors may use manual adjustments, exercises, nutritional support and cold laser therapy to ease your back pain.

At Allied Chiropractic, our goal is always to provide our patients with the most advanced care possible. We focus on holistic methods to pain relief and natural healing. When you visit your chiropractor in our Lancaster office, we'll always offer the most effective treatment for your situation. For some, that may be the use of cold laser therapy.
Cold laser therapy, sometimes called Low-Level Laser Therapy (or LLLT) is a type of treatment administered to a specific area causing pain. This method uses wavelengths of light (lasers) that enter into the tissues of the body. When applied in the right manner and at the right level, this method can work to stimulate and accelerate the body's natural healing process. When you come in for this type of treatment, you will not feel pain or even discomfort. Our team has seen significant success with the use of this therapy alongside other treatment plans.
When Can Cold Laser Therapy Work?
We recommend the use of cold laser therapy when the pain or injury can be pinpointed to a specific area. This method works for both chronic and acute conditions. It can help with muscle and joint pain in nearly any area of the body. We may recommend it if you are suffering from:
- Muscle spasms
- Limited mobility or function of an area
How Does Cold Laser Therapy Work?
When you come in for this type of treatment, we'll use a handheld device that emits the cold laser. These are small devices. We'll position the laser over the area that is causing pain. It only stays there for a few minutes, depending on the type of treatment we are administering and the specific type of injury present. Once in place, the device will emit non-thermal photons of light. This light moves into the tissues of the skin, deeply until it reaches the tissues or fat tissues under the outer layers. Most often, the device can reach up to five centimeters in depth.
There, it triggers a reaction within the cells. The cells activate and are stimulated by the laser. The process works much like photosynthesis works in plants. The light is absorbed and then interacts within the cells to create energy. It works to encourage the body to begin healing the impacted area. By stimulating the body's natural ability to heal, it is possible to see your body heal faster.
We often use cold laser therapy alongside other treatments that may be right for you. This includes chiropractic care, massage therapy, and corrective exercises. We may also encourage you through lifestyle and nutritional advice.
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
Electrotherapy is an alternative pain management treatment option that involves the use of mild electromagnetic pulses to provide relief for the patient. This treatment option can dull pain, repair tissue, strengthen muscles, and even improve your blood circulation.

One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.
Ultrasound therapy is a chiropractic treatment used to help reduce muscle pain and increase range of motion. By using sound waves, we are able to stimulate deep inside the tissue. This minimizes stiffness, swelling, and pain while also promoting circulation, and pain-free movement.
